Lagu Demi Lovato 'Commander in Chief' Sindir Keras Kinerja Trump, Ini Liriknya!
Jakarta - Demi Lovato baru saja merilis single terbarunya bertajuk 'Commander in Chief', Kamis (15/10/2020).
Single tersebut dirilis Demi usai dia nyanyikan secara langsung di ajang Billboard Music Awards 2020 yang disiarkan pada Rabu (14/10/2020) malam waktu setempat.
Penampilan tersebut merupakan kali pertama Demi membawakan lagu 'Commander in Chief'.
Lirik lagu tersebut berisi sindiran Demi kepada Presiden AS Donald Trump terkait kinerjanya dalam menghadapi pandemi COVID-19, kebakaran hutan California, gerakan Black Lives Matter, kebrutalan polisi, dan ketidakadilan rasial di AS.
"Sudah berkali-kali saya ingin menulis surat kepada Presiden atau duduk bersamanya menanyakan pertanyaan-pertanyaan ini. Dan kemudian saya berpikir, salah satu cara yang bisa saya lakukan adalah menulis lagu dan merilisnya untuk didengar seluruh dunia," kata Demi, yang dikutip dari Elle.
"Dan kemudian dia harus menjawab pertanyaan-pertanyaan itu kepada semua orang, bukan hanya saya," sambung penyanyi berusia 27 tahun itu.
Demi juga sempat menulis di Instagramnya bahwa dia menyadari reaksi yang akan dia dapat karena berbicara mengenai politik di dalam musiknya.
Namun, dia tidak menyesali hal itu, dan bahkan dia tidak peduli jika langkahnya ini akan menghancurkan kariernya.
